Zestar apples
August 31 · This month at the farmstand: Zestar apples. Zestar’s undertone of brown sugar flavor, along with sweet-tart taste, make these apples perfect for applesauce, as well as fresh eating.
Pruning trees
May 4 Manny using a professional-quality pair of pruning shears. We use high-quality equipment to prune our trees, to get the right kind of cuts.
Organic mulch
By grinding up the trimmings after we prune the trees in the orchard, we start off the growing season with an organic mulch that helps reduce soil erosion, prevents the soil from drying out, and keeps the plants healthier.
Pruning trees
Marcelino, who has been pruning trees for us for over 25 years, prunes this peach tree in a way that will enable the sunlight to penetrate the tree’s canopy and the air to circulate within it, to help create large, flavorful peaches from it this coming peach season.
