Our Great Plains grain drill is virtually the only ten-foot grain drill on Long Island to have the wheels in the center and not at the ends. By making that modification, we are able to plant cover crop, grains, and grasses right up to the edge of the field without a wheel getting in the way, so we cut down on soil erosion and leave less of the field unplanted.

Planting cover crop provides several benefits, including adding organic matter into the soil, providing crop rotation where trees or some other crop was planted the previous year, and helping to lessen erosion.
