Mid-October lineup
Our mid-October lineup of apple varieties includes Gala, Empire, Idared, Razor, Mutsu, Jonagold, and others.
Gala apples
Razor apples
Our Razor apples have a unique and appealing rough, russeted skin. Take some home and, in addition to eating some of them, try using them in table centerpieces and for other decorating projects, and see what the Razor apple’s skin texture will do to transform your decorations into a sensual, distinctive-looking celebration of this time of the year.
Pick-your-own
Thanks to everyone who came out and picked apples and took a wagon ride with us this past Saturday and Monday. We enjoyed seeing all of you. We are pleased to announce that we still have plenty of apples left on the trees for pick-your-own. We will be open Monday through Saturday until October 20 for pick-your-own apples and pumpkins, with wagon rides on Saturdays only. As always, we offer abundant free parking off the road, and three curb cuts to enable you to get your car off the highway.
Pumpkins
Late-season apples
Jonagold, a red-and-yellowish premium-quality apple, and Mutsu, a green apple that has a golden tinge to its skin, are both large late-season apples we feature at Wickham’s Fruit Farm. They have great texture and body and are great for baking pies, baked apples, turnovers, tarts, and other baked goods, as well as for eating.
Cider press press
October 7 ·
Our historic rack-and-cloth cider press presses the apple pomace in a different way from modern hydraulic presses, so you get fresh apple cider that tastes mellower and sweeter than the mass-market alternative.
Our yellow Lab is glad to see you
Pick your own apples
We invite you to come pick your own apples and take a wagon ride with us at Wickham’s Fruit Farm. We aim to provide a place without quite so many large crowds of people, a place where there is room to park your car, and space and time to experience the outdoors on a large acreage the way it was meant to be experienced.
